Thanks AVS, printed last dark colour with thick dryish ink to capture the crackling dehydrated feel in the air even though there is water everywhere. It worked well with the sand bit. Are those glasses you're wearing or are you wide eyed?
I like this one too. It feels quite and there's a touch of melancoly. Maybe thats just the title influenceing my interpretation. It's like a memory - you want to run out there and join them but you know you can't. i think the intensity of the colours helps to create that feeling of a looking glass into another time and place.
Rabia - Lino or linoleum is a soft rubber-like material common as a floor material. The material is manufactured by oxidizing linseed oil to form a thick mixture called linoleum cement which is cooled and mixed with pine resin, and wood flour to form sheets on a jute backing.
Linocut is a relief printmaking technique similar to woodcut. The image is produced from the raised areas of a carved block of lino. The printing surface stands in relief above the rest of the block.
There is a red setting sun Steve. When the sun is red it means there are nearby bush fires, which there were.
Just trying to warm up Miss Daze :) Katherine's perception about wanting to run out there and join them knowing I can't has more to do with immobility due to cold to the bone.
A bit blasé after growing up with almost yearly mighty fires and putting the fish, photos and pot plants in the car on a regular basis. The choppers used to use parent’s pool for water and I experienced thrill more than fear. It would have been different if the fire wasn’t stopped along our fence line almost every time, or our neighbours burnt :(

You don't know how right you are Katherine! Another time, another place, and I can't run.
You have a very unique style. It is wonderful to see, how one can make things with just lines.. What is a linocut anyway?
I can almost look up and see a red sun setting in the distance. Lovely!

I can't begin to comtemplate the technique involved in this, but the result is fantastic! This has to be on a CD cover!
Thank you again Rabia :) It reads a lot more complicated than in reality.
OOh thanks Ian ... WOW. Although I'm not into romantic music; could the back cover include a shark or drowning?
You've gone summer crazy, Anon. Must be that chill setting in on you. They are all lovely.

Brush fires are scary ! I've had to deal with a moderately sized one a few months back...
