If married, what song/songs were played when you walked the aisle? Links would be great!

This is fantastic! I wish I could see more of your art together as a collection/unit. It reminds me a little of Shane Garton's work, particularly his Utaki #2 which I drool over regularly.

I knew you'd have a very rhythmic, abstract, beautiful interpretation of the theme. Wish I had a profound song to offer per your wedding music request, but I'm afraid we went with the very traditional stuff...nothing poignant or unusual, sorry to say.

Love the illo. I think I can see the Lenny Kravitz song in it!
I walked the aisle in this cute little church to the sounds of "Mint Car" by the Cure.
When she walked out on me 6 weeks later I was thinking I should have made the aisle walk to Julian Cope's "Hung Up & Hanging Out To Dry".

Hhhaaaa, place of residence influences work whether we are aware of it or not Andrea. Shane is another Aussie :) This is just a small study which will be painted one day - thanks :)

Ha, you know me Rick Lovell - thanks! Your wedding song doesn't have to be profound, poignant or unusual ... especially for you on the day!

THANKS for the links Unknown! Blah, I've done the aisle a couple of times, so know how you felt :)

This says Phil Spector to me, a wall of sound.

As for the wedding stuff, the first marriage song was "It's a Wonderful World"....didn't quite work out that way. The second marriage was nil as it was in a registry office...we do have a song though by the Smiths, "There is a light that never goes out" that'd fit the bill.

I love the movement in this. It makes me think of Kandinsky...not the colors but the emotion. He also wanted to express music in his paintings.

My wedding music was Enya from the album Shepherd Moons - not sure which song was on when I made it up the pathway at our outdoor wedding. We just set it to play without timing it.

What a fab piece. The colours are incredible. Amazing the extent to which a mere 'song' can inspire - up or down the aisle :-)

Liz Jones - Love the idea of Schiller’s text being sung by your guests – or were they the orchestra?

Kandinsky was right about sounds being colours and shapes - I can see them! Enya would have made a very romantic background Saige :)

Hahhahaaaa ... very funny Marie - whoops ... STOP ... you need more than a song!

Music to walk the aisle? Do you know I can't recall... I let my mother-in-law choose - gave her a role but I have to confess to forgetting what it was...

We choose our "first dance" music (Caroline by Status Quo & Jimmy, Jimmy by the Undertones) to celebrate each others names.... but the main event happened later as Jim and the rest of the Macaroni Penguins played... and by special request they did Jumping Jack Flash!

Tee hee...

"Fields of Joy" sounds lovely but this painting looks more like a rap to me! To wrap oneself in on a cold night....

And thank you for the frog poem!

Lily (or Lucy) has no idea about all this matrimonial singing… No songs! Nada. No march, no jig, no hymns, no heavenly choir… When bride can say, “I do”, in the language appropriate to the ceremony, in the country she might be dwelling at the time, and don’t run off screaming, it is music to groom’s ears. Or so those who know have assured us.
Love the painting, or preliminary painting, or whatever you like to call it…
It makes me think about insides of something, though… Or an orchestra pit, somehow…
Already depressed about not having you around for a while. And here I was all excited about coming over on my next visit – I got my boat and ready to paddle… Do tell me you will still be accessible by water, and whatever you do, don’t move to Asses Ears, how would anyone explain that at the post office?! So, is it coast, mountains, city or whole another area of the country or the whole another country? Is it too much to ask? Well, if your email remains the same, some of us will catch up with you. Unless you making this all up. AGAIN! Lily.

Lily or Lucy (You must decide one day) glad you love the whatever I call it. Would imagine "I do" would be music to groom's ears also :)
That's the insides of me! Exposed to everyone, trust you to point it out!
Won't be moving to Asses Ears and you'd still drown if paddling. Please do try though ... i'll be near the coast, mountains, city and country; close to whole other countries. Will have to wait and see ... if you make it :) Not being the girl who cried wolf AGAIN!

Thanks for the compliment Mike Thompson :)

A bit more wide than it is long
The dimension of your song
Made to give 'em
Nature rhythm
This tune is not quite oblong.

Like the cool blue and white highlights in these rich reddy ochres. First time I've heard that Leny Kravitz song...:::)

No musical aisle activity to recall, but the theme tune from The Avengers might be good. If romance fails..'Car 67' by Driver 67. No links, lazy me.

Hmmmm you and your army of spears should join Anthony Woodward's pumping pistons - Tony LaRocca ... on a honeymoon! I'm not one for flowery fantasies; the Reprise is a true rendition of what a strong woman can feel after just tying the knot, and the painting a lyrical accompaniment/translation :)

Modroom -
Glad you saw my little square
You need this to stop
There's no oblong and don't care
At least at end won't drop

Must listen to the Avengers - no link? Blah that! Don't think about romance failing :)

I love the painting...I've been 'round to look it over a few times and it each time I do? It sings!
Married? Me? Twice? Cripes!
The first time I believe it was the theme to "Bridge Over the River Kwai" - I was happy enough to be marching along with my new bride; oblivious to the slow and painful death to follow!
The second time was a step up, I think, and we tied the knot before a judge at his office. You guessed it, piped in elevator music...the song? "Shut Up" by the Replacements - the arrangers down at MUZAK have quite a sense of humour, yes?

I like the combination of freeness and rhythm, and there's a lovely lively jazz of colours. I especially like the light blue highlights coming out of a sort of chimney stacks, and the pile of dishes for the wedding feast, that are positively gyrating along with everything else!

Spooky tea, could see it from top of the tree. Downloaded that radio blogger, if I work it out I'll put "Have A Cup of Tea" by the Kinks on post. You'll need very strong tea so your parrots can make a mark! ..:)

Neon orange is an EXCELLENT colour for a wedding dress MuseTigerBrooke! That March would also be great! Had two dresses, one for the ceremony which was Grecian style (handmade myself) which went well with photos on the beach; then changed for breakfast into a short Cinderella wedding dress with walking laced boots also worn all the way to central Australia the same day (flew though). It was FUN and felt great!

Hahahaa, it was a bit of a gyrating day Johnnynorms ;)
