I go for number 1# I love warm colours as well as warm climat, though it´s "winter" where I live, but still I have the sunshine and some plus degrees all days.

Fun idea but where is the purple?
My current climate is #3 and I'd head towards a more purple version of #5!
What I like about purple is the way it combines hot and cold... and so represents balance.... which probably means it will always be what I'm hoping to head towards but never achieve. Perhaps green could also be seen that way too... its just that green also reminds me of mould :-)
i like all of them but my favorites are the second top right and first bottom left. shadings are great.

OOOhhhh WOW .... it's morning (rather late) January 1st and IFs have left lots of comments :) Had wonderful evening with moonlit swim; watched ‘Midnight Sun’ by Cirque du Soleil; then fireworks on, around and above the Sydney Harbour Bridge - LOTS of flavours!! Ate lots also :)

Oh blah Anthony! I know you are in a #5 ... are the fires near your house yet? These are 6 separate drawings joined digitally for IF. They’re also different squashed sizes and shapes. Ezplains showing detail of selected ones on Wednesday - otherwise lots of work and disk space; unless the fires get me first :)

Lovely 'quick' studies, don't know how long I'd take but it would'nt be quick. I am in an inner climate of okayness at moment so am only choosing no.1. I like the changes of colour with the images and the little voyage through changes of perspective as well.

Excellent use of colour to bring out the contrasting "flavours" - I can definitely taste the difference, but can't really choose a favourite, being more an orange and purple kind of tastee. I do like Granny Smiths though...
#2 looks like it might be getting a little moldy - like our fruit basket sometimes does - but I'm reading it wrong :).
Did you put these on your scanner? Pastel residue on the scanner - ugh!

Kaboom - Linda Blair shouldn't take all the fame and it's Hellcat I blame! Thought if you lived with #1 other had to be your bum!
I also think mould when the colour green dictates Ian T! Takes one day at the moment for a loaf of bread to green! Re-workable lacquer seals pastel well but if there is a problem with residue on your scanner - vegetable oil it (then use slightly soapy sponge to remove oil) :)
I choose No.5. To me, it's warm and vibrant and looks sooo yummy!!

I love the colors on #4, its color is so different from a typical apple; it's like an apple made of broken crystals.
I am sure it is #2 is my preference with perfect combination of tropical, but not too hot, fragrant, but not overripe, exuberant without overbearing… I am in climate you have no picture of – it is gray, gray, gray, wet and gloomy. I am going to go to my mental state#2 and enjoy.
By the way, when I got my Happy New Year call from Australia, I thought it might be you, then remembered I didn’t give you my phone, ha-ha-ha! I am still a bit celebratory, but all is well. Thanks for the rampage through my posts and wicked and delightful comments! Lily.

I think i'm about a 4 or so, love the sketches they are lovely! Nice use of color, i particularly like the use of complimentry color on the first two and the last one, really makes the red pop!

Hi anonymous these new ones are most interesting - the blue one looks like its incorporated Monet's pond. And I love the red-purple one (surely 5 not 6). In fact I definitely prefer this one to the blue one - more for the composition than than the colours.

Blue is more so now, it is both winter and spring. And I can feel the heat in the red – it is very passionate looking fruit,even in the purple-blue shadows. Thank you for a luscious treat!
Hi Caroline, thanks for the typo; wrestling with blogger and Wednesday 5pm turned out to be a very bad time! The new images are actually the old images cut to show most interesting areas of texture as close as possible. You can see there were more purples in your #5 all along :)

Hmmmm, the stalk is stark Caroline? It's softer and fades awaaaaaay? There are many different approaches to produce umpteen from a single image. Was fun pushing again with limited time and only digital :)

Brilliant, as usual! These colors vibrate with taste and temperature. In looking at these small cropped still lives of fruit, I somehow feel like like I'm looking into vast landscapes. Excellent.

Ah yes ... landscapes for the fruity M.B :) Pleased you spotted this, a great way to produce new artwork is to take favourite slices from old work and use them to begin a new salad :)
